Wednesday Tip: Get a head start on your 25 Days to Christmas album

For the last 3 years I have done a daily page for my countdown to Christmas album.  I start mine the weekend after Thanksgiving when we decorate the house for Christmas.  Most people start theirs on December 1st.  I was so excited when I saw the Wonder and Wishes collection from Little Yellow Bicycle.  I placed an order right away, because I knew it would be perfect for this years Christmas album.  Basically I document something from each day until Christmas.  Some days have big events, but it mostly consists of the small things.  I include recipes and other memorabillia as well.   I used the 9 x 5 inch wonder and wishes chipboard albumfor the main part of the my album.  This is perfect for those 4 x 6 photos and a little journaling.

I love that LYB has a decorative edge paper padthat fits this particular chipboard album.  This paper pack also helps to make my chipboard album larger.  The pages can fit perfectly onto one of the chipboard pieces as I did on my cover, or they can stand alone as a separate page.  They are double sided with a different pattern on each side.

Another unique item item in this collection is the countdown to Christmas page kit.  The page in the kit is adorable, but I am going to use these as dates on each of my December pages.  The numbers are interactive and the kit comes with stickers to place behind the numbers.  My girls will love opening them up to see what is behind them.

I was really excited about the journaling cards in this collection as well.  They are perfect for the size of pages in the album.  Each page would basically consist of a picture, an interactive number, a journaling card, and a few embellishments.

I have a hard time creating my pages ahead of time, but I do like to get my cover done.  I also like to have all my materials gathered together so it is easy to do a page.   These albums have been well loved by my family members.  My girls especially love opening the books and telling me what we did in the pasts years on the specific day we are currently on in 2011.
